Hurling - game of Irish

Hurling is the national game of Irish Celtic origin, similar to hockey. Two teams, composed of 15 elements each, try to enter with the help of bats, a ball (about the size of tennis) in goal against. The game is counted by goals and points. The goal is achieved when the ball crosses the line under the crossbar of the goal, worth three points then. Goes over the top, between the posts, worth one point.
A game of hurling is supervised by EIGHT judges (all of it!)

Sounds dangerous! Imagine if bat reaches a head a competitor? Thinking about that starting from January 1, 2010 the use of helmets with faceguards became compulsory for hurlers. (Less bad!)

  4. Hurling is a sport very curious! And it seems a little dangerous if "the hurlers" played without a helmet ...
