New York - The Empire States - Post 03/10/2012


The Empire State was built after crisis of 1929 in New York, USA. It was made to be tallest building of the world. It was the tallest building until 1972,  losing  this title after construction World Trade Center (only first tower).

The construction lasted on one year and forty-five days, being number of workers was three thousand on day. The average of construction was 4.5 floors for week.


The building appears in ninety films or more, being one their King Kong (1933).

In July 1945, during a fog, one plane knocked against building and your pilot died, but, after two days  the building worked normally, as if nothing had happened.

After terrorist attacks in 09/11/2001, with the fall of the twin towers, The Empire States was again the tallest building of the world.

  4. I'm not sure about the Empire States but in those tall building the elevators are usually really fast, less than a minute to get to the top!
